Welcome to my blogsite. This page will be used to communicate with officers and men of Longstreet's Corps, on a variety of subjects. Primarily, information about events, requests for numbers and registrations, and orders transmitted for the Corps will be found here. Along the line I will post topics of interest for the good of the Corps' personnel.
I look forward to the task before me, as your new Chief-of-Staff. With your help we will advance the Corps into its bright future, with an eye on those who have guided it thus far. As my first official duty, I will appreciate anticipated numbers for Endview (March 14-16), Chancellorsville I (April 4-6) and Gettysburg (July 3-6). - Colonel Greg Gallion
- I have been involved with Longstreet's Corps since October, 1986. I started as a Private, then a Corporal in the 18th Va. Inf'y, Company B. From there I helped found the 28th Va. Inf'y, Company C, as First Sergeant. I served as second-in-command for the 28th, as 2nd, then 1st Lieutenant, before rising to the Captaincy, which I held until April, 2005. Since then I have been Chief-of-Staff of 2nd Battalion in Longstreet's Corps, until February of this year, when I assumed the same post for the Corps. I am a middle school social studies teacher, since 1984, with no plans to retire. It was my good fortune to participate in Gods and Generals, in 2002. I am also a life-long Chicago Cubs fan, and formerly an athletic trainer and advance scout in the California Angels baseball system.
